Imagine your child had a job interview, at Google for a Software Engineer role, and they had 1 minute in the elevator with the recruiter. What would would their pitch be? What are their strengths to communicate? What else might be important to mention?

People remember in threes, so they could for instance cover:

1. Their passion and how it aligns with Google eg freeing the world's information.
2. Their unique selling point e.g. won a young coders award.
3. Secure next step e.g hand over CV and ask them to call you?

Ask your child to consider the alphabet A-Z in their head, visualising a string of characters in a row. As you ask the questions below they may find tapping on their fingers helpful.

1. What letter comes mid way between H and L?  (Answer = J)
2. Suppose the alphabet started with P, and when it got to Z it went back to A, what would be the 17th letter? (Answer = F)
3. With the alphabet starting on P still, imagine there were no consonants, how many letters would there be? (Trick question. Answer = still 5 vowels!)
